  1. I would like to buy the documentary The Lonnie Holley Story, I’m living in Brussels, Belgium. Can you tell me how much it costs and how to proceed?
    Thank you,

    1. Hi Anne-Marie, Your message just got to me! No really! If you are still interested in the Lonnie Holley film we expect to complete it in Spring 2018, including Dutch footage! We are starting a crowd funding campaign to raise the funds to complete the project next week. I will send you a note about it.
      Best wishes,

  2. I got your name from a former student of yours (Andrew McGill) and I think remember meeting you when you did the documentary on Warren (at Java Lords). I’d love to sit down with you for a lunch or something and talk about the process of documentary film. I’ve got an idea and the time and means to put one together, but need some assistance. Not sure that I need to hire a firm or just get some help and maybe collaborate. Lots of different ways to do it. Let me know if you have any time to chat.

    1. Shawn, You may not believe this but I just got your message from 2016! I would be happy to talk to you about docs and where to begin, but I am about to do a crowd-funding campaign to finish a documentary feature on artist and musician Lonnie Holley. This will eat up my life until mid-Dec. If you still want to talk, check back then. My email is:

  3. Hey George,
I’m trying to update my contact information for you. Your GOIN’ TO CHICAGO royalty report returned to me. Could you give me an up-to-date address, email and phone for our files?
Thanks, Steve Guy, Operations, California Newsreel.

    1. Steve, I just found this behind the figurative piano. So sorry not to respond before–although I think we are up to date. My contact info is: 873 Confederate Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312, email:, phone: 404-840-1422

  4. Hello, George.

I seem to have lost your phone number. I am available and would love to help you out tomorrow and any other time. I responded on facebook, but haven’t heard back from you. I am completely free until 5pm and can also be available after. Please let me know.

  5. Are you the George King who used to work with Interaction and recently posted a film about the Talacre play project, and moved to Berkely CA in 1970 something?

I was the partner of Paul Kingsley. It would be good to hear from you, if you are one and the same!

    1. My God, Jay. How the heck are you! The website usually send things to my email but not this time, so I just saw it for the first time! I am still making films–now in the U.S. My email is:

      Best G

  6. Howdy George!

This is Mac with the old VW doing the short character piece on Lonnie. I was wondering if you by any chance had some B-Roll of Lonnie in Birmingham that you weren’t planning on using. I hope all is well and super excited to see the film.

    All the best, M.

    1. Hi Mac, Sorry for the slow response–my website hiccuped and I just got this. If you still need something, let me know. Better yet email me at: We are starting an Indiegogo campaign next week to raise funds to finish the film. I am trying to get the word out to Alabama Holley fans!
